Lanterns

How to play

Place lanterns in the white cells. A lantern lights its own cell and its whole row and column, up to the nearest wall. Every white cell must end up lit, and no lantern may light another. A number on a wall says exactly how many lanterns sit beside it — above, below, left and right.

Tap a cell to place a lantern, again for a dot (no lantern here), and once more to clear it. Long-press (or right-click) goes the other way. Drag across open cells to dot them all at once. Lanterns that light each other, and numbers with too many lanterns, are marked straight away.

Shortcuts

  • Arrow keys move; L places a lantern, X a dot, 0 clears; Space cycles.
  • Z undoes, Y redoes, H asks for a hint.
